Prior to use
Take the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) and the accessories out of the package and remove the plastic packaging.
The SBR 3.0 A1 (A) must be fully charged before using it for the first time.
Charging the Bluetooth
®
audio transmitter/receiver
To charge the internal battery of the SBR 3.0 A1 (A), connect the micro USB socket (7) via the
supplied USB charging cable (C) to the USB power supply. Insert the USB power supply into a socket
that is always easily accessible. The red LED (3) lights up while charging and goes out when the
battery is fully charged.
Explanation of the RX and TX modes and possible uses
The SBR 3.0 A1 (A) can be used in the following two modes:
1. As receiver in RX mode
In this mode, for example, you can play audio signals from your smartphone via a Bluetooth
®
connection on your stereo system, which you have already connected to the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) via the
supplied RCA cable (B). Other possible playback devices include, for example, TV or active speakers.
WARNING! Never operate the SBR 3.0 A1 in conjunction with wired headphones.
The use of wired headphones may create harmful sound pressure.
In RX mode, it is imperative that the devices from which the audio signals are transmitted have a
Bluetooth
®
function.
The many possible uses of the SBR 3.0 A1 depend on the devices which you want to connect. For
further details, please read the operating instructions for your devices.
2. As transmitter in TX mode
In this mode, for example, you can wirelessly transmit audio signals to a Bluetooth
®
headset or
Bluetooth
®
loudspeaker from an audio source (for example, TV, stereo system, MP3 player) which
itself does not have Bluetooth
®
and which you have already connected to the SBR 3.0 A1 via one of
the supplied cables (B, D).
In TX mode, it is imperative that the devices to which the audio signals are to be transmitted have a
Bluetooth
®
function.
The many possible uses of the SBR 3.0 A1 depend on the devices which you want to connect. For
further details, please read the operating instructions for your devices.

seconds.
RX mode (receiver mode)
Device was already connected to a Bluetooth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the RX position, the device tries for approx. 300 seconds
to connect to the known Bluetooth
®
device and then switches to standby mode. Press the button (1) to
try to connect again for approx. 300 seconds.
If the wireless connection is interrupted during operation, the device tries for approx. 300 seconds to
restore the connection and then switches to standby mode. Press the button (1) to try to connect again
for approx. 300 seconds.
Insert the 3.5mm jack plug of the supplied RCA cable (B) into the Audio Out socket (8) of the SBR
3.0 A1. Then connect the red plug of the RCA cable (B) to the right RCA audio input and the
white plug to the left RCA audio input of your playback device (for example, stereo system, TV).
Your audio source must have an RCA audio input.
Device was not yet connected to a Bluetooth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the RX position, the device switches to pairing mode until it
is connected or switched off.
Slide the mode selection switch (6) to the RX position. The yellow LED (5) lights up. The pairing
mode is now activated and the blue LED (2) flashes rapidly and continuously.
If you are asked for a PIN during the pairing process, enter "0000".
Activate the Bluetooth
®
function on your smartphone and start searching for Bluetooth
®
devices.
You will recognise the Bluetooth
®
audio transmitter/receiver SBR 3.0 A1 by its name "SBR 3.0
A1" in the list of devices which are found. Select it and establish the connection.
Once the connection is established, the blue LED (2) lights up continuously.
You can now listen to music files stored on your smartphone via the connected playback device.
For further details, please read the operating instructions for your playback devices.
TX mode (transmitter mode)
Device was already connected to a Bluetooth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the TX position, the SBR 3.0 A1 tries for approx. 300
seconds to connect to the known Bluetooth
®
device and then switches to standby mode. If you now
press the button (1), the SBR 3.0 A1 switches to pairing mode for approx. 300 seconds and tries to
connect to a new device.
If the wireless connection is interrupted during operation, the device tries for approx. 300 seconds to
restore the connection and then switches to standby mode. Press the button (1) to try to connect again
for approx. 300 seconds.
Connect the headphone socket of your audio source (for example, TV, stereo system, MP3
player) via the audio cable (D) to the Audio In socket (9) of the SBR 3.0 A1. If your audio source
has a 6.3mm headphone socket, also use the adapter (F). Attach it first to a plug of the audio
cable (D) and then insert it into the headphone socket of your audio source.
Alternatively, you can also connect your audio source via the RCA cable (B) to the SBR 3.0 A1
(A). Your audio source must have an RCA audio output. Then connect the red plug of the RCA
cable (B) to the right RCA audio output and the white plug to the left RCA audio output of your
audio source. Insert the 3.5mm jack plug of the RCA cable (B) into the Audio In socket (9) of the
SBR 3.0 A1.
For further details, please read the operating instructions for your audio source.
Device was not yet connected to a Bluetooth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the TX position, the device switches to pairing mode for
approx. 300 seconds and then switches to standby mode. Press the button (1) to start pairing mode
again for approx. 300 seconds.
Now slide the mode selection switch (6) to the TX position. The green LED (4) lights up. The
pairing mode is then activated for approx. 300 seconds and the blue LED (2) flashes rapidly and
continuously.
Also switch your Bluetooth
®
playback device (for example, BT headphones or BT loudspeakers)
to pairing mode.
For further details, please read the operating instructions for your Bluetooth
®
playback device.
The two devices in pairing mode (SBR 3.0 A1 and Bluetooth
®
playback device) then establish a
Bluetooth
®
connection. When the connection is established, this is indicated by the constant
lighting of the blue LED (2) on the SBR 3.0 A1 (A).
When the Bluetooth
®
connection is established, the audio signals of your audio source are
transmitted wirelessly to your playback device and are then played by it.
Resetting the SBR 3.0 A1
To reset the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) and delete the previous connections, slide the mode selection switch (6) to
the RX or TX position. Now keep the button (1) pressed for approx. 5 seconds until the green LED (4)

again. Please note that resetting the SBR 3.0 A1 deletes both the TX and RX connections.
Storage when not in use
You should recharge the battery regularly if you do not use the device for a prolonged
period of time. This will maintain the performance of the battery.
