SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using any electrical
appliance, basic safety precautions
should always be observed,
including the following:
• Remove the electric sharpener
from the box.
Remove all of the packing
materials carefully and completely.
• Read all instructions carefully and
completely, before operating.
Retain them for future use.
• To protect against electrical shock
do not immerse cord, plug, or main
unit of electric sharpener in water
or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary
when appliances are used by or
near children.
• Unplug from AC outlet when not in
use and before cleaning.
• Do not operate any appliance with
a damaged cord or plug, or after
the appliance malfunctions, is
dropped or is damaged in any
manner. Examination of this unit by
an applian-ce service professional
is obligatory in any of the
aforementioned instances.
• Do not use this unit outdoors.
• Do not let the power cord hang
over the edge of table or counter,
or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place this unit on or near a
hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven. Do not place the unit
near other hot surfaces such as
an oven or stove.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent
or a similar qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
ATTENTION: The device should not
be used for more than three minutes
at a time. Please allow it to cool down
for 30 minutes before using it again.
Pre-grinding
If you would like to grind your knives
for the fi rst time with the knife
sharpener, please start with pre-
grinding on the left-hand side of the
device.
• Insert the knife blade either in the
right-hand or left-hand blade guide
mechanism and pull the knife
towards you at an even speed.
• When you pull the knife through the
blade guide you should allow approx.
1 sec. for every 5 cm of the
knife blade. For example, if you would
like to sharpen a knife with a blade that
is 15 cm long you should
take approx. 3 seconds to grind it.
• Sharpen the right-hand side of the
knife three times in the left-hand guide
mechanism and the left-hand
side of the knife three times in the
right-hand guide mechanism.
• In order to sharpen the tip, lift the
handle of the knife slightly.
Fine Grinding
• With fi ne grinding you can produce
a sharp edge to the knife.
• Repeat the procedure - as
described under pre-grinding - on
the right-hand side of the device.
• Grind each side of the knife again
three times alternately for two or
more seconds each time,
depending on the length of the knife
blade.
• Finish off the grinding process by
pulling the knife quickly
(approximately 1 second) through
both blade guide slots.
• Wipe the blade off with a damp
cloth in order to remove any metal
residues from the grinding process!
• Check the sharpness of your knife

Electric Knife Sharpener

INSTRUCTIONS D’UTILISATION
IMPORTANT! N’utilisez jamais
l’appareil pendant plus de 3
minutes. Laissez-le refroidir 30
minutes avant toute nouvelle
utilisation
Ébauchage
Lorsque vous souhaitez aiguiser
vos couteaux pour la première fois
à l’aide de l’aiguiseur, commencer
l’ébauchage sur le côté gauche de
l’appareil.
• Place la lame du couteau dans le
guidage droit ou gauche puis faîtes
glisser le couteau à vitesse
régulière vers vous.
• Lorsque vous faites passer le
couteau à travers le guidage de
lame, accordez env. 1 sec. par 5
cm de la lame du couteau. Si p. ex.
vous souhaitez aiguiser un
couteau ayant une lame d’une
longueur de 15 cm, l’affûtage
devrait vous prendre env. 3 sec.
• Aiguisez en alternance
respectivement 3 fois le côté droit
du couteau sur le guidage droit et le
côté gauche du couteau sur le
guidage droit.
• Pour aiguiser la pointe, soulevez
légèrement la poignée du couteau.
Affilage
• L’affi lage vous permet d’obtenir
une arête tranchante
sur le couteau.
• Répétez l’opération conformément
à la description faite pour
’ébauchage sur le côté droit de
l’appareil.
• Aiguisez de nouveau chaque côté
du couteau en alternance 3 fois, en
fonction de la longueur de lanlame
du couteau pendant 2 ou plus de
secondes par passage.
• Terminez le processus l’aiguisage
par un passage rapide (environ 1
seconde) à travers les deux fentes
du guidage de lame.
• Essuyez le couteau à l’aide d’un
chiff on humide, afin d’en enlever
les éventuels résidus métalliques
du processus d’aiguisage!
• Vérifi ez le caractère tranchant de

GEBRAUCHSANLEITUNGEN
Vorschliff
Wenn Sie Ihre Messer das erste Mal
mit den Messerschärfer schleifen
wollen, beginnen Sie mit dem
Vorschliff auf der linken Seite des
Gerätes.
• Legen Sie das Messerblatt entweder
in die rechte oder linke Klingenführung
ein und ziehen Sie das Messer in
gleichmäßiger Geschwindigkeit in Ihre
Richtung.
• Wenn Sie das Messer durch die
Blattführer ziehen, gewähren Sie ca.
1 sec. je 5 cm des Messerblattes.
Möchten Sie z.B. ein Messer mit einer
15 cm langen Klinge schärfen, sollten
Sie ca. 3 sec. für einen Schliff
brauchen.
• Schärfen Sie abwechselnd je 3 Mal
die rechte Messerseite an der linken
Führung und die linke Messerseite an
der rechten
Führung.
• Um die Spitze zu schärfen, heben
Sie den Messerhandgriff etwas an.
Feinschliff
• Mit dem Feinschliff erzielen Sie
einen scharfen Rand am Messer.
• Wiederholen Sie die
Vorgehensweise - wie beim Vorschliff
beschrieben - auf der rechten Seite
des Gerätes.
• Schleifen Sie wieder jede
Messerseite abwechselnd 3 Mal in
Abhängigkeit der Messerblattlänge 2
oder mehr Sekunden pro Durchlauf.
• Schließen Sie den Schleifprozess
mit einem schnellen Durchlauf
(ungefähr 1 Sekunde)durchbeide
Blattführungsschlitze ab.
• Wischen Sie das Messer mit einem
feuchten Tuch ab,um eventuelle
Metallrückstände vom Schleifprozess
zu entfernen!
• Prüfen Sie die Schärfe Ihres Messers
an Nahrungsmitteln. Schneidet das
Messer die Nahrung nicht leicht,
wiederholen
Sie den Vor-und den Feinschliff.
