Frame adjustments - changing the position of the rear and front wheels
The construction of the wheelchair makes it possible to change the height of the seat as well as allowing to shift the
center of gravity of the wheelchair.
•Adjusting the seat height is done by changing the mounting position of the rear wheels (up/down) and
changing the mounting position or size of the front wheels.
•Adjusting the balance of the wheelchair is done by changing the mounting position of the rear wheels
(front/rear).
Adjusting wheel position (vertically and horizontally)
It is possible to adjust the rear wheels up or down, forwards or backwards
to suit the tyre size and the personal preferences of the user.
If necessary, the seat height of the wheelchair can be adjusted by raising
or lowering the axles of the rear wheels, which will require the position of
the front wheels to also be adjusted.
The horizontal alignment (front / back) allows to in@uence the stability
and manoeuvrability of the chair. The most common and neutral position
is "B". If it is necessary to increase the manoeuvrability of the wheelchair,
position "A" can be used. With the wheels in position "A" it is easier to
manoeuvre the wheelchair but the stability to the rear is signi7cantly
reduced.
If the wheels are set to position "A" the chair should always be equipped
with an activated anti-tip. Persons with amputated leg(s) should never use the wheelchair with the wheels in position
"A" - the risk of tipping is too high. Leg amputees should set position "C" as it provides greater stability than the
other positions. Even when using this setting, the wheelchair should be equipped with anti-tip accessories. As the
manoeuvrability of the wheelchair is made more diacult with the axles in position "C", this setting is only
recommended for leg amputees.
WARNING! The correct position of the wheels should only be determined by professional therapists or specialist
companies.
There are 5 di?erent height settings and 3 di?erent horizontal settings possible.
To adjust the axles horizontally (front or back)
proceed as follows:
1. Remove the wheels using the quick release
axles.
2. Remove the wheel mounting bracket 1 and
place it in the desired position (A, B, C).
3. Repeat the process with the opposite axle.
4. Re-insert the wheels using the quick
release axles.
To adjust the axle height, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the wheels using the quick release axle.
2. Unscrew the wheel mounting plate by loosening the 4
screws 2.
3. Move the plate up or down to your desired height
dictated by screw slots.
4. Fix the axle mounting plate again with the 4 screws.
5. Repeat the procedure with the opposite mounting plate.
6. Re-insert the wheels using the quick release axles.
Transit wheels (accessory)
The optional 4" wheels can be mounted from the bottom of the wheelchair by screwing the two bolts of the
accessory tube to rear slots of the axle mounting plate of a regular 24" wheel. The transit wheels have to be
mounted from the outer side of the wheelchair.
8" front wheels
The wheelchair is equipped with PU wheels 200x50 mm as standard. We recommend to
stay with this type of tyres, but it is also possible to use pneumatic tyres. It is possible to
install wheels with di?erent sizes. This might be necessary after adjusting the rear axles.
If the vertical position of the rear wheels is changed, it is always necessary to adjust the
position of the front wheels accordingly. The vertical axis of rotation of the fork should
always be set at a 90° angle to the ground (+/- 2°).
To make the adjustment, move the front wheel axle to another hole by loosening and
removing the bolt 1, moving the wheel up or down to the desired height and re-inserting
and tightening it again in the selected hole. There are four holes available. In some cases
it may be necessary to replace the standard front wheels (8") with a wheel of a di?erent
size (6" or 7").
Correct positions and front wheel sizes depending on desired seat height:
