The production of steam under pressure can cause serious burns.
It is imperative to respect all the safety rules below.
Before first use, read this information and the instructions for use of the
device carefully.
Danger - Never immerse or place the device under water or any other liquid.
- Keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children.
Before plugging in the device :
- Check that the supply voltage of the 220-240V~ device corresponds to the
voltage supplied by the electrical network.
- Check that the appliance's plug and power cable are not damaged.
- Check that there is no water flowing from the device and that the safety cap is
closed correctly.
- Never power on a device that is damaged, broken or has suffered an impact.
- Connect the device to an electrical network equipped with standard
protections.
- Never connect the device to a direct electrical network.
- Only connect the device to an electrical connection equipped with earthing.
Operating :
- This appliance is only intended for vertical ironing. This appliance is designed
and marketed for domestic use. Any other use instantly voids the
manufacturer's warranty.
- Never leave the device unattended if it is connected to the electricity network
- This appliance may be used by children aged 12 or over, people with reduced
physical, sensory or intellectual capabilities or people lacking experience and
knowledge, provided that these children or people are under supervision or
that they have received instructions on the safe use of the device and are aware
of the dangers involved.
- Precautions to avoid any risk of burns:
The steam projection may be accompanied by residual water droplets present
in the circuit. Always direct your steam diffuser to avoid any risk of splashing
water or hot steam on yourself, another person or an animal.
- Check that the filler cap is closed correctly
- Never touch the soleplate of the iron
- Never direct the flow of steam towards yourself, another person or an
animal
- Never iron a textile on a person
- Never open the safety cap
- Never move, tip or lift the device
- Never touch or open the drain screw placed under the appliance
- Place the switch in the OFF position when the device no longer emits steam.
- Never use the device when the water tank is empty.
- Do not store the steam diffuser in its storage shell for too long a heating time
(risk of the thermal protection fuse melting)
Water filling :
- Unplug the device before filling with water
- After a heating period, if the device still contains water (steam production
possible), the safety cap can be opened after a cooling time of 40 minutes.
- If the device no longer emits steam, the device is empty. Cooling time is
reduced. To open the safety cap, proceed slowly. If there is residual steam,
wait until it has completely dissipated before opening completely.
- This device is designed to operate exclusively with water
- Disconnect the device from the electrical network at the end of use.
Cleaning – Maintenance – Repair :
- Before any contact, ensure that the device is cold
- Clean this device only with a soft, damp cloth without using detergent.
- If tap water is used, regular rinsing to remove limescale residue is
recommended. If you do not follow this procedure, limescale will build up.
Under the effect of heat, the limescale will harden, seal the drain plug under
the appliance, alter the seal and reduce the heating capacity. The
consequences of a lack of maintenance are not covered by the manufacturer's
warranty.
- White seals are provided. The gasket is for the safety cap. Its deterioration is
due to excessive tightening. Replace this seal if it is damaged.
- Always entrust the device to Gecko-Steamer for repair or verification. Never
try to repair the device yourself. Any intervention by an unauthorized person
results in the immediate cancellation of the warranty.
