Arrange the fresh food to be frozen in the freezing area in the
freezer compartment avoiding the food coming into direct contact
with food that is already frozen. To maximise the freezing speed, the
lower drawer can be removed and the food can be placed directly
on the bottom of the compartment.
The freezing will be complete after 24 hours.
Fan (if available)
You can turn the fan on/off by pressing the button on the base (as
shown in the figure). If the ambient temperature exceeds 27°C, or
if drops of water are present on the glass shelves, it is essential
that the fan is on to ensure the proper
preservation of the food. Deactivation of
the fan allows energy consumption to be
optimised.

Ijsvorming in het koelkastgedeelte van uw Whirlpool ART 6500, zelfs met de temperatuurknop op stand 1, duidt meestal op een van de volgende problemen:
1. **Thermostaat defect:** De thermostaat regelt de temperatuur in uw koelkast. Als deze defect is, kan hij de koeling niet correct uitschakelen, waardoor de compressor te lang doorgaat met koelen en ijsvorming ontstaat.
2. **Deurrubber lekt:** Een beschadigd of slecht sluitend deurrubber laat warme, vochtige lucht van buitenaf de koelkast binnen. Deze vochtige lucht condenseert en bevriest tegen de koude achterwand, wat resulteert in ijsvorming. Controleer de deurrubbers op scheuren, slijtage of plekken waar ze niet goed aansluiten. U kunt dit testen door een vel papier tussen de deur en het deurrubber te plaatsen en de deur te sluiten. Als u het papier er gemakkelijk uit kunt trekken, sluit het rubber niet goed af.
3. **Afvoer verstopt:** Koelkasten hebben een afvoergootje aan de achterzijde, waar condenswater wordt afgevoerd. Als deze afvoer verstopt raakt door vuil of etensresten, kan het water niet weg en bevriest het op de achterwand. U kunt proberen de afvoer voorzichtig te ontstoppen met een dunne flexibele draad of een wattenstaafje.
4. **Voedingsmiddelen raken de achterwand:** Zorg ervoor dat voedingsmiddelen niet direct tegen de achterwand van de koelkast staan. Direct contact kan de luchtcirculatie belemmeren en lokale ijsvorming veroorzaken.
**Wat kunt u zelf doen?**
* **Ontdooien:** Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat de koelkast volledig ontdooien (dit kan enkele uren duren). Zorg ervoor dat al het ijs en water is verwijderd. Droog de binnenkant goed af voordat u de koelkast weer inschakelt. Het kortstondig uit het stopcontact halen (3 minuten) is over het algemeen niet voldoende om de kern van het probleem aan te pakken. * **Controleer de deurrubbers:** Zoals hierboven beschreven, controleer de rubbers op beschadigingen en een goede afsluiting. Reinig de rubbers ook regelmatig om ze soepel te houden. * **Reinig de afvoer:** Zoek het afvoergaatje aan de binnenkant van de achterwand (meestal onderin) en reinig dit voorzichtig.
Als bovenstaande stappen het probleem niet verhelpen, is het raadzaam om contact op te nemen met een gekwalificeerde servicetechnicus. Deze kan een diagnose stellen en de defecte onderdelen, zoals de thermostaat, vervangen.
