To ensure accuracy, readings should be taken without clothing and under consistent conditions of hydration. If you do not
undress, always remove your socks or stockings, and be sure the soles of your feet are clean before stepping onto the measuring
platform. Be sure your heels are correctly aligned with the electrodes on the measuring platform. Don’t worry if your feet appear
too large for the unit, accurate readings can still be obtained if your toes overhang the platform. It is best to take readings at the
same time of day. Try to wait about three hours after rising, eating, or exercising before taking measurements. While readings
taken under other conditions may not have the same absolute values, they are accurate for determining the percentage of change
as long as the readings are taken in a consistent manner. To monitor progress, compare weight and body fat percentage taken
under the same conditions over a period of time.
Note: An accurate reading will not be possible if the soles of your feet are not clean, or if your knees are bent or you are in a
sitting position.
Do not pull the Hand-electrodes cable beyond the red band.
Handling Tips
This scale is a precision instrument utilising state-of-the-art technology.
To keep the unit in the best condition, please follow these instructions carefully:
sDo not attempt to disassemble the measuring platform.
sStore the unit horizontally, and place it so that the buttons will not be pressed accidentally.
sAvoid excessive impact or vibration to the unit.
sPlace the unit in an area free from direct sunlight, heating equipment, high humidity, or extreme temperature change.
sNever submerge in water. Use alcohol to clean the electrodes and glass cleaner (applied to a cloth first) to keep them shiny;
avoid using soaps.
sDo not step on the platform with wet feet.
sDo not drop any objects onto the platform.
sDo not carry the unit by holding the Hand-electrodes.
sDo not release the Hand-electrodes unit the cable is completely retracted into the unit.
Inserting the Batteries
Open the battery cover on the back of the measuring platform. Insert the supplied
AA-batteries as indicated.
Note: Be sure that the polarity of the batteries is set properly. If the batteries are incor-
rectly positioned the fluid may leak and damage floors. If you do not intend to use
this unit for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove the batteries before
storage.
Please note that the included batteries from the factory may have decreased energy levels
over time.
Positioning the Scale
Place the measuring platform on a hard, flat surface where there is minimal vibration to
ensure safe and accurate measurement.
Note: To avoid possible injury, do not step on the edge of the platform.

GETTING ACCURATE READINGS
AUTOMATIC SHUT-DOWN FUNCTION
The automatic shut-down function shuts off the power automatically in the following cases:
sIf you interrupt the measurement process. The power will shut down automatically within 20 to 60 seconds, depending upon
the type of operation.
sDuring programming, if you do not touch any of the buttons within 60 seconds.*
sAfter you have completed the measuring process.
*Note: If the power shuts off automatically, repeat the steps from “SETTING AND STORING PERSONAL DATA IN MEMORY”
(page 4).

  • de weegschaal staat ineens op ft in plaats van kg, hoe kan ik dit terugzetten? Gesteld op 18-4-2016 om 13:42

  • Heb sinds deze morgen Tanita bc 545N,was er heel enthousiast over...maar ben nog altijd aan het wachten op juiste meting
    -dikwijls krijg ik de melding Err,gewoon na weegschaal aan te zetten
    -lukt het me da zonder Err melding, krijg ik eerst 0.0, en nog voor ik er ga op staan zie ik al verschijnen 0,2...0,3, dan weer 0.0
    -vanaf het moment ik er ga opstaan met blote voeten, begint hij gewoon van hoog gewicht af te dalen naar heel laag gewicht, tot zelfs onder 0, de ander keer krijg ik zelfs de kans nie om cijfers te zien, vanaf ik er ga opstaan "OL" en nee ik weeg geen 150 kg(dan zou je een melding OL krijgen)

    • Beste, vervangen van de batterij kan wonderen doen, nadien niet vergeten het jaartal en dag terug in te stellen.

  • Tanita BC-545N: Hoe wis ik een 'user' zodat ik gegevens van een nieuw persoon kan opslaan? Kom er met de handleiding niet uit. Groet, Linda Gesteld op 12-11-2015 om 15:19

    • Gewoon nieuwe gegevens invoeren?
      Ik wel op bijvoorbeeld nr 2 de gegevens veranderen, druk dan op user naar nr 2 druk op "set" en vervolgens krijg ik gewoon de oude gegevens te zien. Kun je die niet helemaal wissen? Of graag iemand die mij uitleg kan geven hoe dat wel werkt, want via de handleiding kom ik er niet uit. Geantwoord op 23-11-2016 om 20:59

  • Via Guest voer ik informatie in: leeftijd, vrouw, lengte. Dame gaat op weegschaal staan als de weegschaal daar om vraagt. Gewicht geeft hij door maar daarna gebeurd er niets. Geen vetmeting en geen vochtpercentage. Er verschijnt dan ERROR in de display. HELP!!! Gesteld op 4-5-2011 om 17:08

    • Dit doet hij bij mij ook op de nummer één. Hier heb ik mijn gegevens ingevuld en de eerste keer was het in orde, daarna gaf hij telkens error in. Als ik mijn gegevens telkens opnieuw invul dan lukt het wel. Geantwoord op 5-5-2011 om 08:51
