Problem Solution
I cannot open
the lid.
A temporary vacuum has developed under the
lid. Switch o the coee machine. Pull up the
lever and wait 24 hours before you open the lid.
You may need to use some force. Always make
sure the pod holders are clean and the sieve is
not clogged to prevent vacuum.
The coee
machine produces
less coee than
before.
Make sure the intensity switch on the front of the
machine is in the right setting. When you adjust
the switch, the volume in the cup is also adjusted
(HD6569, HD6563 only).
Check the pod holder. If the sieve is clogged, use
a washing-up brush to unclog the sieve. If you
cannot clean it properly with the washing-up
brush, put the pod holder in the machine and
descale the machine (see chapter CALC).

When I press the
1-cup or 2-cup
button, the
brewing briey
stops and then
continues again.
This Philips SENSEO® coee machine features a new
brewing technology. Just before it starts brewing
your coee, the machine rst carefully doses a small
amount of hot water onto the pod. This pre-brewing
ensures that the coee gets time to bloom before
the water starts owing for actual brewing.
Water leaks from
the machine.
Make sure that you do not overll the water
reservoir. Check that you place the water reservoir
on the appliance correctly.
Check the pod holder. If the sieve is clogged, use
a washing-up brush to unclog the sieve. If you
cannot clean it properly with the washing-up
brush, put the pod holder in the machine and
descale the machine (see chapter CALC).
Make sure that the coee pod has been put
properly in the centre of the pod holder.
In all other cases, contact the Philips Consumer
Care Centre in your country.
I cannot close the
lid properly.
Check if a used coee pod is sticking to the water
distribution disc. If this is the case, remove the
used pod.
Check if you used the correct pod holder.
Use 2 pods in combination with the deeper 2-cup
pod holder.
The SENSEO®
coee is not
strong enough.
Make sure that the intensity switch is in the
position you want (HD6569, HD6563 only).
Make sure that you place the coee pod(s)
properly in the centre of the pod holder and
ensure the coee in the pod is evenly distributed.
If you prefer a more robust avour, SENSEO®
coee pods with a stronger blend are available.
The SENSEO®
coee is too
strong.
Make sure that the intensity switch is in the
position you want (HD6569, HD6563 only).
If you prefer a milder avour, SENSEO® coee
pods with a milder blend are available.
The coee is not
hot enough.
Do not use cups that are too large, as they cause
the coee to get cold more quickly. Make sure
the cups have a capacity of at least 150ml.
The machine has
been stored in a
room that was not
frost-free.
Contact the Philips Consumer Care Centre in your
country.
Tips and instructions
Flush the machine before rst use and if the machine has not been
used for one day. After the ushing cycle (which only takes approx.
2 minutes), the machine is ready for brewing SENSEO® coee.
- Select the strong short coee recipe by double tap on the 1 cups
button for 1 cup of strong short coee (HD6569, HD6563).
- Select the strong short coee recipe by double tap on the 2 cups
button for a double cup of strong short coee (HD6569, HD6563).
- While the machine is heating up, you can select the number of cups
you want to brew. The machine brews the cup or cups immediately
after it has heated up.
- You can stop the brewing cycle at any time by pressing the same
button (1-cup button or 2-cup button) that you pressed to start
brewing coee.
- The machine is intended for normal
household use only. It is not intended for
use in environments such as sta kitchens
of shops, oces, farms or other work
environments. Nor is it intended to be
used by clients in hotels, motels, bed and
breakfast and other residential environments.

regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic elds.
- The energy consumption of this machine in o mode is less than
1 watt. This means that this machine complies with European
Directive 2005/32/EC, which sets the ecological design
requirements for energy-using products.
Frost-free storage
If you already used the coee machine and have therefore already
ushed it with water, you may only use and store it in a frost-free place
to prevent it from becoming damaged.

The CALC light
ashes.
You have pressed the 1-cup button and the 2-cup
button at the same time. This started the descaling
cycle. If you did not intend to start the descaling
cycle, simply press the on/o button to switch o
the machine. If you did intend to start the descaling
cycle, do not interrupt this cycle but let the
appliance operate until the water reservoir is empty.
The CALC
light lights up
continuously after
descaling.
The descaling procedure has not been
completed. Perform the descaling procedure as
described in chapter CALC. Do not switch o the
machine during descaling.
Water continued
to ow from the
spout when I used
the machine for
the rst time.
The machine was performing the ushing cycle.
You have to place a bowl of 1.5 litres under the
spout.
The light ring
around the on/o
button continues
to ash rapidly.
Make sure that there is enough water in the water
reservoir and that the water reservoir is placed
properly.
There is not enough water in the water reservoir
(i.e. above the MIN level if you want to brew 1 cup).
Check if the oat in the water reservoir is stuck.
Empty the water reservoir and shake it a few
times to release the oat. Clean the water
reservoir with hot water and some washing-up
liquid or in the dishwasher.

    • Als je 2x op dezelfde knop drukt geeft hij idd maar de halve hoeveelheid.Je hebt 2 knoppen: voor twee en een kop.
      Als dat niet het geval is:
      1. stekker uit stopcontact
      2. beide knoppen indrukken (1 en 2 koppen) vasthouden en stekker weer insteken
      3. knoppen loslaten; alle drie de lampjes branden continue
      4. voor meer water: op de tweekopsknop drukken. voor minder water: op de eenkopsknop drukken
      5. per keer indrukken geeft hij 1/2 sec meer of minder water

    • Wat een goeie tip! Philips kon niet helpen, alle andere tips sloegen op oudere modellen en we waren na dagen op het punt het apparaat wat net en jaar oud is weg te doen en dacht ik ga nog één keer zoeken en toen vondt ik deze tip. GEWELDIG en bedankt! Geantwoord op 25-8-2023 om 20:18

  • Het moet mogelijk zijn om de hoeveelheid water per kop aan te passen. Ik weet alleen niet hoe dat moet. Wie weet dit. Gesteld op 4-3-2019 om 12:29

    • 1. Trek de stekker uit het stop-contact.
      2. Houd allebei de knopjes voor één en twéé kopjes ingedrukt, terwijl men de stekker weer in het stop-contact steekt.
      3. Als men nu de knopjes los laat, branden alle drie de lampjes ( knoppen ) continue. (Niet van toepassing bij de oudere Senseo’s)
      4. Om de hoeveelheid water te vergroten, drukt men op het knopje voor twéé kopjes. Als men het knopje indrukt en weer loslaat, gaat
      het lampje van de aan en uit knop even uit, en dan weer continue aan.
      Per ” knop-druk” verlengt de looptijd om ongeveer 0.5 seconden.
      Drukt men de knop voor twéé kopjes, 4 keer achter elkaar in, dan blijft het water 2 seconden langer lopen.

      1. Hetzelfde geld voor het verminderen van de hoeveelheid water, als men b.v. sterkere koffie wilt.
      Alleen gebruikt men nu het knopje voor één kopje.
      2. Om het programmeren af te sluiten en te bewaren, drukt men nu op de Aan/Uit knop.
      3. Vervolgens drukt men het apparaat weer aan, wacht tot de Senseo op temperatuur is, en drukt het knopje voor één kopje weer in.
      Men zal zien, dat er nu meer water in het kopje staat.
