You can record at up to four times normal speed from a CD to an MD.
This means you can complete recording from a 74-minute CD in 23
minutes.
Preparation:
Do the preparatory steps (
a
page 20).
Insert the CD (
a
page 13).
1 Press and hold [MD REC MODE –DUAL HI-SPEED]
until “HIGH-SPEED” appears.
2 Press and hold [* AUTO REC CD q MD] until “AUTO
REC” appears.
Recording starts.
When recording is finished
When the CD finishes the MD also stops.
Å The message “UTOC Writing” and “” stop flashing on the
display.
To stop recording
Press [STOP g].
Both CD and MD stop.

q Press [q/h CD] to select “CD” as the source then press [g STOP/
CANCEL].
w While pressing [*/h REC], press [q/h MD].
¡ To record one track
q Select the track.
w Press [PLAY MODE] to select “1-SONG” (
a
page 15).
e While pressing [*/h REC], press [q/h MD].
¡ If either LP2 or LP4 recording mode is used, then the recorded tracks
are treated as one group unless there is not enough space in UTOC
or you start recording with the remote control.
¡ You will not hear sound when using high-speed recording.
