Picture files that can be displayed by PHOTOfunSTUDIO
The following picture files can be displayed in each mode
of PHOTOfunSTUDIO.
J Still picture
Still pictures can be displayed in any of the modes: List, Focus,
and Full Screen. (They will be displayed as thumbnails in List
mode.)
If [Video] is selected as the type of picture displayed, no still
picture is displayed. Besides, if [JPEG] is selected, only picture
files in the JPEG format are displayed.

JPEG format
JPEG-format files with extensions of .JPG, .JPEG, and .JPE
can be displayed.
• JPEG is an abbreviation of Joint Photographic Experts Group,
and derives from the designation of the committee that has
developed this compression format. This file format adopts the
data compression method that thins out colour data from a
coloured image to the extent that the human eye cannot
discern.
z
BMP format
BMP-format files with an extension of .BMP can be displayed.
However, BMP files of some special formats are excluded.
• BMP is an abbreviation of Bitmap, and an image format most
commonly used in Windows
®
.
zTIFF format
TIFF-format files with extensions of .TIF and .TIFF can be
displayed.
• TIFF is an abbreviation of Tagged Image File Format.

Motion picture
Motion pictures can be displayed in every mode. The
representative picture (typically, the first frame) of a motion
picture is displayed. (Motion pictures are displayed in
thumbnail view when in List mode.)
Besides, if [Still Picture] or [JPEG] is selected as the type of
picture displayed, no motion picture file is displayed.

MOV format
QuickTime motion picture files in Motion JPEG format with
extensions of .MOV can be displayed.
To play files in this format, QuickTime is needed.
J Other files and folders
zRAW format
Only when in the List mode, files with an extension of .RAW
can be displayed with [RAW] icon.
Still pictures and motion picture files other than mentioned
above, and other files and folders can be displayed as icons
when displayed in thumbnail view only.
