• The Smoky connected smoke detector does not require user intervention on any part for proper operation. Never open the product and never attempt to
disassemble the internal parts or modify them in any way. If the product shows signs of malfunction, turn off the power immediately and have it checked by
a qualified technician.
• Do not use Smoky if it is out of order, damaged (shell or any other part of the smoke detector) or emits abnormal noise.
• Do not place objects, even light objects, on Smoky.
• Do not leave Smoky near heat sources such as radiators or heating elements.
• Do not store or use Smoky in the rain and do not use it near water or in a humid environment. Do not place nearby containers (such as vases, bottles,
or glasses) containing liquids that may leak through openings. If any liquid gets inside Smoky, immediately turn off the power and have it checked by a
qualified technician.
• Use only the type of batteries recommended for Smoky, indicated on the product and in this manual.
• Do not twist, bend or damage Smoky’s red plastic safety guards.
• Never attempt to remove or connect the Smoky’s battery with wet or damp hands.
• Periodically check the condition of Smoky, dust and clean it at this time.
• Use only a soft, dry cloth for cleaning, cold only.
• When not in use, store Smoky in a cool, dry place.
• When restarting after prolonged non-use, recheck the product’s integrity and clean it before connecting the batteries.
• To replace Smoky, remove the batteries and allow the smoke detector to rest for a few seconds before handling.
• This product is not a toy and should not be handled by children. It may contain small parts that can be swallowed: choking hazard.
• When the product is switched on, please keep a minimum distance of 20cm from the product (exposure to radio frequencies).
• Please do not use rechargeable batteries with your Smoky.
• Do not paint your Smoky.
• Do not cover your Smoky.
• Do not store any furniture in front of your Smoky, it must be completely free to operate properly.
• Please read and follow the installation instructions for your product.
• Please also be aware of the prevention instructions and actions to be taken in case of fire.

The local Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) quantifies the user’s exposure to the
electromagnetic waves of the equipment concerned. The maximum permitted SAR is 2

the instruction manual. This warranty excludes damage caused by external circumstances.
Specifically, the warranty does not apply if the device is damaged as a result of a fall,
operating error, connection not in accordance with these instructions, lightning, overvoltage
or insufficient protection against heat, humidity, frost and temperature.
The guarantee is only applicable in metropolitan France.
• The warranty does not cover the user or application manual, settings or personal data.
• The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear of the product.
• The warranty does not cover damage caused to the product due to an operating error,

FIRE PREVENTION
• Have your electrical installations checked and maintained regularly.
• Adopt the right gestures for your installations (no power strips in cascades, etc).
• Have your heating installations (gas, heating, chimneys and exhaust ducts) checked and maintained regularly.
• Keep an eye on your electrical appliances and be careful not to leave them on for too long (especially halogen lamps or other space heaters).
• Don’t leave your fireplace on overnight and/or turn it down. Equip yourself with a firewall.
• Keep an eye on the kitchen, do not leave food cooking unattended. Turn off all cooking appliances after use.
• Do not store dangerous and/or flammable products near a heat source.
• Take care not to clutter up the common areas of your building to limit the supply of a potential fire hazard.
• Protect your children by storing matches and lighters. Make them aware of the dangers and the reflexes to adopt in case of fire.
PRECAUTIONS IN CASE OF FIRE
• Immediately leave the area where the fire started.
• Get to safety and remember : «never go where the smoke is».
• Call 112 or 911 to contact the closest fire brigade.
• Do not try to extinguish the fire by yourself, you could make it worse.
• If you find yourself in a smoke-filled room, put a handkerchief in front of your nose and get down to get some fresh air.
• Try to close the doors of the burning room when you leave the room to try to limit or slow down the spread of fire and smoke.
• If the fire starts outside your home, stay home so you don’t get trapped in a smoky hallway or stairwell, especially if you live in a flat.
• In this context, close the door of your apartment and dampen it, caulk it with a damp cloth to increase your protection.
• Stand at the window so that the emergency services can see you.
WARNING: In all cases, if you have to open a door, check for the presence of smoke from a fire by taking ar least the following precautions:
• Begin by opening a few centimetres, without trying to pass your head, and be ready to close the door well immediately. If smoke is present, it will be visible
as soon as you open the door.
• Never take the elevator, take the stairs.
