-Take the conveyor belt out of the machine and rest it on trestles (set out along its entire length) turning it through
180° in relation to the position in the machine.
- Remove chips scraper ‘A’ using the 2 fixing screws, the 4 bottom guide rollers ‘B’ using the relative fixing screws
and the spacer ‘C’ with the relative guide walls ‘D’ using the fixing screws (Fig. 10-23).
- Turn the 4 adjusters ‘E’ (2 for each end of the belt) fully home (inwards) undoing the fixing screws ‘E1’, then
turn inwards the relative belt support plates ‘F’ by undoing fixing screw (Fig. 10-24).
- In this way the tension has been slackened off the belt which can now be removed by pulling it out carefully.
- Remove the screw adjusters for the belt and fit them into the new one (if the old one is being replaced)
- Fit the new belt (or the same one once it has been cleaned) making sure the space between the 2 sides is
roughly equal (N.B. The belt has an arrow that shows the direction of rotation - see Fig. 10-25).
- Fit chips scraper ‘A’ using the 2 fixing screws, the 4 bottom guide rollers ‘B’ using the relative fixing screws
and spacer ‘C’ with the relative guide walls ‘D’ using the fixing screws (Fig. 10-23).
- To tension the belt, turn the 4 belt support plates ‘F’ outwards, then bring the 4 adjusters ‘E’ up to the relative
plates using the 2 fixing screws ‘E1’ (Fig. 10-25).
N.B. To tension the belt correctly, it is best to move it with a “makeshift” connection to the motor cables (an
“expert” electrician should be used).
- “Fine” tensioning is done using the 4 screws that fix the support plates as shown in Fig. 10-26.
- As well as the belt being tensioned correctly, to make sure it is also centred (away from the sides), turn screw
adjuster ‘G’ (Fig. 10-27).
- Once the belt has been tensioned and centred correctly, tighten all the fixing screws, adjusters and support
plates, then the “makeshift” connection to the motor cables can be eliminated.
- The conveyor belt can now be fitted to the base of the machine following the dismantling operations in reverse
order.
- Unlock the pneumatic master switch and turn it to “I” then turn the main switch to “I”.
- Carry out a few test runs (especially to make sure the direction of rotation is correct).
