Mute
When the mute feature is turned on, you can hear the other party,
but the other party cannot hear you.
1. Press MUTE during a call.
2. Press MUTE again to resume conversation.
Temporary tone dialing
If you are using pulse (rotary) dialing service, you can temporarily
switch from pulse to touch-tone dialing during a call.
Press */TONE during a call to activate this feature. The telephone
automatically returns to pulse dialing after you end the call.
Handset paging
You can use the handset paging feature to nd misplaced handset.
Press the PAGE button at the back of the telephone base to start
the paging tone on the handset for 30 seconds. Press any key on
the handset or press the PAGE button again to stop the paging.
NOTE: Paging tone sounds even when the ringer is turned off.
Registering a handset
The handset included in the package is pre-registered.
To re-register a handset:
1. Press and hold */TONE on the handset until the light indicator
ashes.
2. Press and hold the PAGE button on the telephone base for 5
seconds.
A conrmation tone sounds when the handset is registered to the
telephone base successfully.
Deregistering handset
This feature is intended for handset replacement procedures.
Handset deregistration is not recommended for normally
functioning systems.
1. Unplug the power adapter from the telephone base.
2. Press and hold the PAGE button on the back of the telephone
base and then plug the power adapter back in.
3. Make sure the PAGE button is pressed and held for 10 seconds
after plugging back the power adapter.
Phonebook
The telephone system can store up to 10 phonebook entries with
up to 24 digits for each entry.
Adding record
1. Press MEM when the handset is in idle mode.
2. Enter a memory location number (0-9).
3. Press MEM.
4. Enter a number up to 24 digits. If you need a pause between
digits, press and hold #/pause.
5. Press MEM to save the number and a conrmation tone sounds.
Adding record from redial memory
1. Press MEM when the handset is in idle mode.
2. Enter a memory location number (0-9).
3. Press MEM.
4. Press REDIAL.
5. Press MEM to save and a conrmation tone sounds.
Delete an entry
1. Press MEM when the handset is in idle mode.
2. Enter the memory location (0-9) of the desired entry.
3. Press MEM twice to delete the entry and a conrmation tone
sounds.
Dial a phonebook record
1. Press TALK/END when the handset is in idle mode.
2. Press MEM.
3. Enter the memory location (0-9) of the desired entry. The
number will be dialed automatically.
Chain dialing
This feature allows you to initiate a dialing sequence from
numbers stored in the phonebook while you are on a call. This
feature is useful if you wish to access another numbers (such as
bank account information or access code) from the phonebook.
To access a number in the phonebook while on a call:
1. Press MEM.
2. Enter the memory location (0-9) of the desired entry. The
number will be dialed automatically.
Troubleshooting guide
If your telephone system is not operating properly, rst try these
general reset procedures:
1. Unplug the power adapter from power outlet.
2. Disconnect the telephone line cord from the base or modular
jack.
3. Remove the battery compartment covers and unplug all handset
batteries.
4. Re-install all handset batteries after a few minutes.
5. Plug the power adapter back into the power outlet. Be sure not
to use outlets that are controlled by wall switches or timers.
6. Place the handset in the telephone base to charge without
interruption for at least 30 minutes before use.
7. Plug the line cord into the telephone base or modular jack and
verify operation.
Problem Cause/solution

Fully charge the batteries for 16 hours. Check

does not operate properly, contact your
telephone service provider.
The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust the
ringer volume.
Handset
does not
ring.
The handset may be out of range. Move closer
to the base.
You
experience
static, noise,
or fading in
and out.
You are using the handset or telephone base
in an area with high electrical interference.
Reposition the base unit and use the handset
away from sources of interference.
General product care
To keep your unit working and looking good, follow these
guidelines:
Avoid dropping the handset, as well as other rough treatment to
the phone.
Clean the phone with a soft cloth.
Never use strong cleaning agents, paint thinner, abrasive
powder, alcohol, or other chemical products to clean the unit.
Doing so will damage the nish.
Retain the original packaging in case you need to ship the
phone at a later date.
Periodically clean the charge contacts on the handset and base
with a clean pencil eraser.
Important safety instructions
Some of the following information may not apply to your particular
product; however, when using telephone equipment, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of re,
electric shock and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read and understand all instructions.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
3. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do
not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth
for cleaning.
4. Telephones should not be used while you are in a bathtub,
shower or pool. Immersion of the telephone or handset in

7. Plug the adapter into an easily accessible electrical outlet near
the equipment.
8. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate
this product where the cord will be abused by persons walking
on it.
9. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can
result in the risk of re or electric shock.
10. Never push objects of any kind into this product through
cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or
short out parts that could result in a risk of re or electric
shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.

12. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this
product. If service or repair work is required, take it to a

2. Do not use this product if the battery door is removed or
missing.
3. Replace batteries that appear to be swollen or have damaged

explode. Check with local codes for possible special disposal
instructions.
5. Do not open or mutilate the battery(ies). Released electrolyte
is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may

at the same time. Mixing fresh and discharged batteries could
increase internal cell pressure and rupture the discharged

separately replaceable primary battery.)

polarity or direction must be observed. Reverse insertion of
battery(ies) may result in leakage or explosion.
Environment
Used equipment must be disposed of in compliance with current
