L’Apparecchio è garantito un anno dalla data di ac-

quisto. La nostra garanzia copre tutti gli eventuali difetti

di fabbricazione, escluse tutte le parti soggette a nor-

male usura. La garanzia non copre i danni causati da urti,

incendi, cortocircuiti e quelli derivanti da un uso impro-

prio. La garanzia prevede la sostituzione di tutti i pezzi

non funzionanti escluso le parti elettriche.

Il giudizio sulla natura del guasto è demandato insindaca-

bilmente ai tecnici dei servizi assistenza autorizzati dalla

POLTI.

Il certificato di garanzia, timbrato e compilato in ogni sua

parte, va consegnato, in caso di riparazione dell’apparec-

chio, al Centro Assistenza. La garanzia è valida se corredata

dallo scontrino fiscale oppure dal timbro del rivenditore con

la data di acquisto. L’elenco ufficiale dei Centri Assistenza è

riportato nel presente manuale istruzioni.

La POLTI declina ogni responsabilità se nella riparazione non

vengono utilizzati ricambi originali POLTI. Per ogni controver-

sia è competente il Foro di Como.

Los productos POLTI están garantizados durante uno

año desde la fecha de compra. Nuestra garantía cubre los

posibles defectos de fabricación, quedando excluidas las

partes sujetas a desgaste usual. La garantía no cubre los

daños causados por golpes, incendio, cortocircuito y aquel-

los debidos a un uso inadecuado.

La garantía cubre la sustitución de todas las piezas excluida

la parte eléctrica, con el solo abono de la mano de obra. El

juicio sobre la reparación a efectuar es exclusivamente de

los servicios técnicos autorizados POLTI.

En caso de reparación el aparato debe ser enviado al servi-

cio tecnico más proximo acompañado de este certificado de

garantia, que deberá ser timbrado por el vendedor y relle-

nado totalmente para tener validez.

La compañia POLTI declina cualquier responsabilidad si en la

reparación si no se utilizan recambios originales POLTI.

Les produits POLTI bénéficient d’une garantie totale

pièces et main-d’œuvre d’une durée de 1 an. La garantie lé-

gale couvrant les défauts ou vices cachés (article 1641 et

suivants du Code civil) est applicable en tout état de cause.

La garantie est effective dans la mesure où ce produit est re-

tourné franco, non démonté dans un de nos Centres Agrées

POLTI FRANCE.

L’envoi doit être accompagné d’un avis d’expédition indi-

quant les anomalies constatées ainsi que du présent certifi-

cat. Sont exclus de la garantie: 1) Les produits réparés par

des tiers; 2) Les pannes dues à une mauvaise utilisation, à

un entretien défectueux et à un entartrage.

The guarantee covers any eventual defect in work-

manship with the exception to normal wear. The guarantee

does not apply to damages due to shocks, fire, short circuit

or improper handling. The guarantee ceases if non original

POLTI parts have been built in.

In case of damage please contact only authorized POLTI re-

pair centres. The guarantee is valid for one year and starts

from the date of sale. The guarantee is only valid if the guar-

antee card carries the dealer’s stamp and the date of pur-

chase. It must be presented in the event of a repair.

After ironing, follow these procedures:

• Turn the steam control cursor to pos. "0"

• Unplug the appliance from the mains

• To empty the remaining water in the tank, keep the

point downwards and unhook the tank as described in

the "Filling the tank" paragraph.

• Unplug the iron and wipe the sole plate with a wet cot-

ton cloth in order to clean any marks from the sole

plate. But do not rub too vigorously to avoid scratch-

ing the plate.

• To clean the iron outside, simply use a damp cloth.

Avoid using abrasive cloths or detergents which may

cause damage to the plastic surface.

• Store the iron in vertical position, out of children's

reach.

• When the iron is cold, rewind the cable around the ca-

ble-winder (fig.11)

• Read this manual carefully and store it for future use

• When the iron is used for the first time a light odour

and smoke may be noticed. This is due to the sole-

plate’s special cover and will disappear within seconds.

• Plug the iron exclusively in mains sockets equipped

with an earth.

• Do not leave the iron unattended whilst it is plugged

into the mains.

• Keep the iron out of children’s reach.

• Do not place the iron in water or in other liquids.

• Always handle the iron with care and warn others of

the potential dangers (e.g. steam or hot water output,

hot soleplate).

• Before filling the iron with water unplug it from the

mains.

• Do not unplug the iron by pulling the power cord.

• Only use cable extensions which are in perfect condi-

tion and equipped with an earth.

Never use the iron in the following circumstances:

• The iron or the power cord are damaged

• The iron has been dropped or has been knocked se-

verely

• Water is leaking from the iron.

• In case of malfunctioning or failure never attempt to dis-

assemble the iron, but contact your nearest authorised

Polti Service Centre.

• In case of damage to the power cord. It should be re-

placed by an authorised Polti Service Centre.

• If you accidentally drop your iron, you should have it

checked by an authorized Polti Service Centre be-

cause some internal malfunctionings might have oc-

cured, limiting the safety of the product.

Caresse carries a 1 year guarantee from the date of pur-

chase against manufacturing and material defects. The

guarantee is not valid in case of inappropriate use.

In case of failure or malfunctioning, contact the nearest

authorised Polti Service Centre immediately. Any mishan-

dling of the appliance by unauthorised persons will auto-

matically invalidate the guarantee.

• Polti S.p.A. declines any responsibility in case of acci-

dents arising from use not complying with the instruc-

tions contained herein.

dig acht, zonder waarschuwing vooraf technische wijzigin-

gen en wijzigingen in de constructie aan te brengen.

Het instellen van de temperatuur

• Sorteer voordat u gaat strijken uw kleding op het

soort stof en begin met de kleding die op de laagste

temperatuur gestreken moet worden. Draai de ther-

mostaat op de gewenste stand voor de betreffende

kleding (fig. 1).

• - Lage temperatuur (synthetische weefsels)

• • - Halfwarm (zijde, wol)

• • • - Hoog temperatuur (katoen) - stoom zone

• Als u zeer tere weefsels wilt strijken, probeer dan of u

de juiste temperatuur hebt ingesteld door een stukje

van de stof te strijken dat gewoonlijk niet zichtbaar is.

• Wanneer u er niet zeker van bent op welke tempera-

tuur u moet strijken, begin dan altijd op de laagste

temperatuur (•) en strijk een stukje stof dat gewoon-

lijk niet zichtbaar is. Als de ingestelde temperatuur

niet hoog genoeg blijkt te zijn, stelt u de middelste

temperatuur, halfwarm (• •) in.

• Als uw kledingstuk uit twee verschillende materialen

bestaat (bijvoorbeeld zijde en wol), wordt aangeraden

op de laagste stand te strijken.

Invullen van reservoir

• Haal voordat U het reservoir vult altijd eerst de

stekker uit het stopcontact.

• De stoomcursor in lage stand zetten (fig. 2).

• Het reservoir los maken van de vergrendeling (G)

(fig. 3).

• Het reservoir (A) van het strijkijzer verwijderen, en on-

der de kraan invullen met een aan 45° stand (fig. 4).

• Het strijkijzer nemen en de punt naar beneden hou-

den. Het reservoir weer vergrendelen (fig. 5).

• Het waterniveau daalt want het water gaat in de

stoomkamer. Voor meer autonomie moet U het reser-

voir bij vullen.

• Het waterniveau is altijd zichtbaar gedurende het ge-

bruik.

Stoomstrijken

Nadat u het reservoir met water hebt gevuld, gaat u als

volgt te werk:

• Draai de thermostaat (E) op de stand “stoomstrijken”

(fig. 6). Als de thermostaat op de lage temperatuur

staat, wordt er geen stoom geproduceerd maar komt

er gewoon water via de gaten in de zool naar buiten. Als

de thermostaat op de hoge temperatuur staat, wordt er

onzichtbare droge stoom via de zool afgegeven.

• Steek de stekker in een geaard stopcontact. Het ther-

mostaatlampje (D) gaat nu aan en blijft gedurende de

hele opwarmtijd branden.

• Wacht tot het lampje (D) uit is; het strijkijzer heeft nu

de ingestelde temperatuur bereikt en is klaar voor ge-

bruik.

• Stel de gewenste hoeveelheid stoom in door de

stoomcursor (C) van de stand “0” in de gewenste

stand te zetten (op stand “8” hebt u de grootste stoo-

mafgifte) (fig. 7).

• Als u het strijkijzer horizontaal houdt, begint de stoo-

mafgifte. Door het strijkijzer weer verticaal te houden

wordt de stoomafgifte onderbroken; dit kan ook door

de cursor voor de stoomregeling op “0” te zetten.

Gebruik van de “Stoomstoot”-knop

• Voor een “Stoomstoot” (fig. 7-8) dient u knop (K) in te

drukken. Voordat u dit doet dient u te controleren of

de draaiknop van de thermostaat in de juiste positie

staat voor stoomstrijken.

• Met behulp van de extra stoom worden zelfs de meest

hardnekkige kreuken in uw kleding glad gestreken. Als

u gebruik maakt van deze functie, maakt het niet uit in

welke positie de cursor voor de stoomregeling staat.

Voor een beter resultaat wordt echter aangeraden de

cursor in de stand “gesloten” (0) te zetten.

• Voor het beste resultaat wordt aangeraden 4 secon-

den te wachten, voordat u de knop weer indrukt voor

een extra stoomafgifte.

Sproeifunctie

• Met behulp van de sproeiknop (H) kunt u water op uw

strijkgoed sproeien (fig. 9). Voordat u deze knop ge-

bruikt, dient u te controleren of er water in het reser-

voir zit.

• De sproeifunctie is geschikt voor het bevochtigen van

droge kleding en voor het strijken van gesteven kle-

dingstukken. Sproeien is ook handig als u droog

strijkt op een lage temperatuur.

• De sproeifunctie kan zowel bij stoomstrijken als bij

droog strijken gebruikt worden.

Droog strijken

• Zet de cursor (C) op “0” als er water in het reservoir

zit (fig. 2).

• Zet de thermostaat (E) op de juiste stand voor de te

strijken stof.

• Steek de stekker in een geaard stopcontact; het ther-

mostaatlampje (D) gaat branden.

• Wacht tot het lampje (D) uit is en u kunt beginnen met

strijken.

Strijken zonder reservoir

• Om moeilijke punten te strijken te bereiken als de

broekzak, is het gebruiken van stoomstrijken gedu-

rende 5 min. mogelijk (fig. 10).

Na het strijken dient U de volgende handelingen uit te

voeren:

• Zet de stoomcursor (C) op de stand “0”.

• Neem de stekker uit het stopcontact.

• Met de punt naar beneden gaat U het water reservoir

leeg maken door het los te krijgen zoals in «invullen

van reservoir».

• Maak de strijkzool met een natte katoenen doek

schoon om eventuele aanslag te verwijderen. Wrijf

niet te hard, anders kunnen er krassen op de strijk-

zool ontstaan.

• Om het strijkijzer aan de buitenkant te reinigen, kunt

U het beste een vochtige doek gebruiken. Gebruik

nooit schurende of bljtende producten want die zou-

den het kunstof materiaal kunnen beschadigen.

• Het strijkijzer in verticale positie zetten en buiten het

bereik van kinderen houden.

• Zodra het strijkijzer afgekoeld is, gaat u het snoer

oprollen (fig. 11).

• Lees deze gebruiksaanwijzing aandachtig door en

bewaar hem, zodat u hem altijd kunt raadplegen.

• Als u het strijkijzer voor de eerste keer gebruikt kan er

een beetje rook en een lichte geur ontstaan. Dit wordt

veroorzaakt door de speciale beschermlaag op de

strijkzool en duurt slechts een paar minuten.

• Maak altijd gebruik van een geaard stopcontact.

• Laat het strijkijzer nooit onbewaakt achter als de

stekker in het stopcontact zit.

• Houd het strijkijzer uit de buurt van kinderen.

• Dompel het strijkijzer nooit onder in water of in an-

dere vloeistoffen.

• Wees altijd voorzichtig bij het gebruiken van het

strijkijzer en waarschuw andere personen ook voor

de mogelijke gevaren (bijvoorbeeld: afgifte van stoom

of kokend water, gloeiend hete strijkzool).

• Haal, voordat u het strijkijzer bijvult met water, de

stekker uit het stopcontact.

• Trek nooit aan het snoer om de stekker uit het stop-

contact te halen.

• Gebruik alleen verlengsnoeren die in goede staat

verkeren en die geaard zijn.

Gebruik het strijkijzer niet in de volgende gevallen:

• het ijzer of het elektriciteitssnoer is beschadigd

• het ijzer is gevallen of is blootgesteld aan zware

schokken

• er lekt water uit het ijzer.

• Probeer het apparaat nooit zelf te demonteren als

zich een storing of defect voordoet maar ga naar de

dichtstbijzijnde Polti-dealer.

• Als het snoer kapot is mag het apparaat nooit worden

gebruikt. Het snoer mag slechts vervangen worden

door een reparateur van de Polti-dealer.

• Als het ijzer gevallen is, moet U het apparaat door

een goedgekeurde technisch centrum laten controle-

ren. Er kunnen interne schade bestaan dat de veili-

gheid van het apparaat beperken.

Bij de CARESSE krijgt u 1 jaar garantie op fabricage- en

materiaalfouten, gerekend vanaf de datum van aankoop.

De garantie is niet geldig als het defect is veroorzaakt

door onjuist gebruik.

Als zich een storing of defect voordoet, dient u meteen

contact op te nemen met de dichtstbijzijnde Polti-dealer.

Wanneer niet-erkende reparateurs het apparaat hebben

geopend, vervalt de garantie automatisch.

• Polti wijst elke aansprakelijkheid af voor ongevallen

die worden veroorzaakt door gebruik van de CA-

RESSE dat niet in overeenstemming is met deze ge-

bruiksaanwijzing.

Regulação da temperatura

• Antes de engomar, separe a sua roupa segundo o

tipo de tecido e comece a engomar os tecidos que

requerem uma temperatura mais baixa. Coloque o

termóstato na posição adequada para a sua roupa

(fig.1).

• No caso de tecidos muito delicados aconselhamos-

lhe que engome previamente uma parte escondida

do tecido.

• Em caso de dúvida acerca da temperatura mais

adequada, inicie a engomar regulando o termóstato

na temperatura mais baixa (•) e efectue sempre uma

prova numa parte escondida do tecido. Se a esta

temperatura o resultado obtido não for satisfatório,

continue a engomar regulando o termóstato na

temperatura média (• •).

• Se a sua roupa for composta por dois tipos diferentes

de material (por ex. seda/lã), aconselhamos-lhe que

engome com a temperatura mais baixa.

Enchimento do reservatório

• O enchimento do reservatório deve ser efectuado

com a ficha desligada da tomada da corrente.

• Coloque o cursor de controle do vapor na posição

baixa (fig. 2).

• Extrair o reservatório de água (A) (fig. 3).

• Introduza água no reservatório (A) mantendo-o a 45°

durante o cuchimento (fig. 4).

• Incline o ferro de modo a ficar com ponta voltada

para baixo e introduza o reservatório. Trave o

reservatório com o botão de extracção do

reservatório (G) (fig. 5).

• Depois desta operação o nivel do liquido no

reservatório diminui porque a água passa para um

reservatório interno. Para uma melhor autonomia

pode voltar a repetir a operação de enchimento do

reservatório.

• Enquanto estiver a engomar poderá controlar o nivel

de água contida no reservatório pela parte

transparente.

Engomar a vapor

Após ter enchido o reservatório de água, proceda do

seguinte modo:

• Rode o termóstato (E) na posição "vapor" (fig. 6).

• Ligue a ficha a uma tomada de corrente dotada de fio

de terra. A luz de aviso do termóstato (D) acender-se-

á e permanecerá acesa durante o aquecimento.

• Espere até que a luz de aviso (D) se apague. Nesse

momento o ferro atingiu a temperatura seleccionada

e está pronto para ser usado.

• Regule a quantidade de vapor pretendida deslocando

o cursor apropriado (C) da posição "0" até à posição

pretendida (a máxima saída de vapor obtém-se na

posição mais alta) (fig. 7).

• Coloque o ferro na posição horizontal para iniciar a

saída do vapor. Pode-se interromper a saída de vapor

colocando, simplesmente, o ferro na posição vertical

ou então deslocando o cursor do vapor (C) até à

posição "0".

Utilização do botão "Super Vapor"

• Para obter uma saída de "Super Vapor" (fig. 7-8),

carregue no botão (K). Antes de carregar neste

botão, verifique se o botão do termóstato (E) está

colocado na posição de saída de vapor (fig. 6).

• Com a produção extra de vapor, as dobras difíceis da

roupa são facilmente eliminadas. Durante a função de

saída extra de vapor, o cursor de controlo do vapor

pode ser colocado em qualquer posição. Para obter

um melhor resultado aconselhamos, no entanto, que

coloque o cursor na posição " fechado" (0).

• Para um rendimento óptimo da função "Super Vapor",

aconselhamos que espere pelo menos 4 segundos

entre uma pressão e outra.

Borrifo de água

• Carregando no botão (H) obtém-se um borrifo de

água no tecido que se pretende engomar (fig. 9).

Para utilizar esta função é necessário verificar se há

água no reservatório.

• O borrifo de água ajuda a humedecer a roupa muito

seca e engomar a roupa com amido. Também é útil

para engomar a seco a baixa temperatura.

• O borrifo de água pode ser utilizado quer quando se

engoma a vapor quer quando se engoma a seco.

Engomar a seco

• Se houver água no ferro, desloque o cursor (C) para

a posição "0" (fig.2).

• Coloque o termóstato (E) na posição adequada para

o tecido que pretende engomar.

• Ligue a ficha a uma tomada de corrente dotada de fio

de terra. A luz de aviso do termóstato (D) acender-se-á.

• Espere até que a luz de aviso (D) se apague, inicie

então a engomar.

Passagem sem vapor

• Para engomar a vapor locais onde normalmente o ferro

não alcança, tais como mangas de camisa, bolsos de

casacos, etc., retire o reservatório do ferro, podendo

assim disfrutar de 5 minutos de vapor para a

passagens de dificil alcançe.

Após ter engomado, siga as seguintes indicações:

• Desloque o cursor de controlo do vapor até à

posição "0".

• Retire a ficha da tomada.

• Para despejar a água contida no reservatório, vire o

ferro com a ponta para baixo e desengate o

reservatório. Despeje a água e volte a colocá-lo.

• Desligue a ficha e limpe a base com um pano de

algodão molhado para eliminar as manchas. Não

exerça demasiada pressão para não arranhar a base.

• Para a limpeze externa do ferro, utilize sempre um

pano hümido. Evite o uso de panos abrasivos ou de

detergentes pois estes podem danificar a superficie

de plástico.

• Arrume o ferro em posição vertical, longe do alcance

das crianças.

• Quando o ferro estiver frio, enrole o cabo à volta de

enrolador (fig. 11).

• Leia atentamente o presente manual de instruções e

conserve-o com cuidado para possíveis consultas no

futuro.

• Quando o ferro for usado pela primeira vez, é

possível que se note fumo e um certo cheiro. Isso é

devido ao revestimento especial da base e

desaparecerá após, aproximadamente, dois minutos.

• Ligue o ferro somente a tomadas dotadas de fio de

terra.

• Nunca deixe o ferro sem vigilância quando estiver

ligado à tomada de corrente.

• Mantenha o ferro fora do alcance das crianças.

• Nunca mergulhe o ferro em água ou noutros líquidos.

• Utilize o ferro sempre com muito cuidado e avise

também os outros acerca dos possíveis perigos (por

ex. saída de vapor ou de água a ferver, base quente).

• Antes de encher o ferro, desligue a ficha da tomada

de corrente.

• Não desligue a ficha da tomada puxando pelo cabo.

• Use somente extensões em perfeitas condições e

dotadas de fio de terra.

Nunca ponha o ferro a funcionar nos seguintes

casos:

• se o ferro ou o cabo estiverem danificados;

• se o ferro tiver caído ou se tiver sido submetido a

fortes choques;

• se o ferro perder água.

Temperature Adjustment

• Before ironing, split your washing according to the

type of fabric and start by ironing items which require

a minimum temperature. Turn the thermostat accord-

ing to the fabrics (fig. 1)

• - Low temperature (synthetics)

• • - Medium temperature (silk, wool)

• • • - High temperature (cotton, linen) - steam area

• For very delicate fabrics, it is advisable to perform a

trial on a piece of material not externally visible.

• In case of doubt on the type of fabric, commence

ironing by adjusting the thermostat to low tempera-

ture (•) and perform a trial on a non externally visible

piece of fabric. If the result is not satisfactory at this

temperature, continue by adjusting the thermostat to

medium temperature (• •).

• If your washing is composed of two types of fabrics,

(e.g. silk/wool), it is advisable to proceed at the low-

est temperature.

Filling the tank

• The tank must be filled only when the power cord is

unplugged from the mains.

• Put the steam control cursor in the low position

(fig. 2)

• Unhook the water tank by the hook (G) (fig. 3).

• Remove the tank (A) from the iron and fill it under the

tap keeping it at 45° (fig.4)

• Hold the iron keeping the tip downwards. Put the tank

correctly back in its place (fig.5)

• After this operation the liquid level in the tank de-

creases because the water goes in the inside reserve

chamber. For longer ironing duration you can restore

the level in the tank by repeating the filling operation.

• During ironing, it will be possible to check the water

level through the transparent tank.

Steam Ironing

After filling the tank with water proceed as follows:

• turn the thermostat to the “steam” position (fig. 6).

• Insert the plug in an earthed socket. The thermostat

pilot light will switch on (D) and will remain on during

pre-heating time.

• Wait for the pilot light (D) to switch off. The iron has

reached the selected temperature and is ready for use.

• Adjust the desired intensity of steam by moving the

appropriate cursor (C) from the “0” position to the de-

sired position (maximum steam output is obtained in

high position) (fig. 7).

• By placing the iron in a horizontal position steam out-

put begins. Steam output is interrupted simply by

placing the iron in a vertical position or by moving the

steam cursor (C) to position “0”.

Using the “Shot of Steam” button

• To obtain “Super Steam” output (fig. 7-8), press but-

ton “K”.

Before pressing this button ensure the thermostat

control wheel (E) is within the steam area (fig. 6).

• With extra steam output, difficult creases can be re-

moved easily. During extra steam output the steam

control cursor can be held in any position. To obtain a

better result, it is advisable to place the cursor in the

“closed” position. (0).

• For optimal performance with Shot of Steam, it is ad-

visable to wait 4 seconds between each press.

Water spray

• By pressing the appropriate button (H), a water spray

is obtained over the fabrics to be ironed (fig. 9). In or-

der to make use of this feature it is necessary to fill

the tank with water.

• The water spray helps you to dampen dry items and

to iron starched items. It is also useful for low tem-

perature dry ironing.

• The water spray can be used both during steam iron-

ing as well as during dry ironing.

Dry Ironing

• If water is present inside the iron, turn the cursor (C)

to the “0” position (fig. 2)

• Turn the thermostat (E) to the appropriate position for

the fabric to be ironed.

• Insert the plug in an earthed socket. A thermostat pi-

lot light (D) will switch on.

• Wait until the pilot light (D) switches off and com-

mence ironing.

Ironing without tank

• To make steam ironing easier in difficult to reach

places like shirt sleeves, pockets, trouser legs, it is

possible to use the iron without the tank, using the

steam output for about 5 minutes (fig. 10).

• No caso de avaria ou de mau funcionamento, nunca

tente desmontar o aparelho e contacte o Centro de

Assistência autorizado Polti mais próximo.

• Se o cabo de alimentação eléctrica estiver

danificado, a sua substituição deve ser efectuada

num Centro de Assistência autorizado Polti.

• No caso de queda acidental do ferro e necessário

levar o aparelho a un centro de assistência técnica

autorizado porque poderá ter provocado um mau

funcionamento interno que limita a segurança do

aparelho.

parte de pessoal não autorizado invalidarão

automaticamente a garantia.
