The GBT-212 is designed for the testing of acoustic glass break detectors.
It detects the air pressure changes caused by the flexing or bending of glass
and then automatically generates sound imitating the breaking of the glass. It is
also possible to trigger the sound manually using the test buton.
Operation
Switch on the GBT-212 tester using the ON-OFF slide switch.
The LED will flash rapidly for 4 sec during the warm up period
When the LED is permanently lit, the tester is ready for use.
Place the tester close to the window you want to test. The speaker of the
simulator must face towards the glass break detector.
Hit the glass with a suitable object or with a safety glove. The air
pressure change will activate the GBT-212 and the breaking glass sound
will be generated.
Confirm the correct reaction of the glass break detector and, if it is
necessary, adjust its sensitivity according to its manual.
Next test is possible after apr. 4 sec, indicated by the LED being
continuously lit.
The glass break sound can also be activated by pressing the test button.
Attention! Do not place the tester close to your ears! Keep away from
children!
Manual mode
You can switch the tester to its manual mode. Switch on the GBT-212 tester keeping the test button
pressed. The air pressure detector will be by-passed and the simulator can be triggered only by pressing the
test button. This mode is indicated by a flashing LED.
Battery replacements
Use only quality alkaline 9V batteries for this simulator. When the power voltage drops bellow 8 V, the
LED indication will switch off.
To conserve battery life, the tester switches off automatically when there is no testing for more then 10
minutes. You can switch the GBT-212 on again using the switch.
